Dog rescue could cost twice as much as orignial estimate
(2008-08-26)
(WOUB) - The rescue of nearly 1,000 dogs from a kennel in West Virginia now is estimated to cost as much as $200,000.

That's double the initial estimate by Scotlund Haisley of the U.S. Humane Society says the community is already stepping forward to help.

Haisley says the initial count was 986 dogs, but that has gone up.

Kennel owner Sharon Roberts said the dogs were well cared for by her and her six employees.

But the Humane Society says it would be impossible for so few people to properly handle that many dogs.
