Professor Remembers Tubbs Jones
(2008-08-21)
(WOUB) - A retired Ohio University African American Studies professor says Congressman Stephanie Tubbs Jones is irreplaceable.

The 58-year-old Cleveland Democrat died Wednesday after suffering a brain hemorrhage.

She was known as a trailblazer because of her energy and outspokenness.

Tubbs Jones was the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress.

Retired O-U professor Francine Childs says she hopes Tubbs Jones' legacy will live on.

Childs says she will miss Tubbs Jones' voice most of all because she says the congresswoman stood up for what she believed was right for her district and the people across the nation.
