Summer camp for special needs children
(2008-08-18)
(WOUB) - Special needs children like to swim and do crafts like other kids their age and that's just what they did at Beacon School in Athens for the past three weeks at a summer camp.

16 campers from around the region came for the Summer Fun for Kids camp held this year for the first time by five agency sponsors.

Cathy Hunter was the camp supervisor.

The campers ranged in age from six to 15.

The camp was a partnership through the Athens City Schools, the Athens
County Board of Developmental Disabilities, the Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center, Havar Inc. and the Southeastern Ohio Chapter of the Autism Society of America.
