OU grad student reports from Georgia conflict overseas
(2008-08-12)
(WOUB) - Ohio University graduate student Daniel McBrayer is now out of Georgia and no longer in jeopardy from the invasion of that country by Russia.

The Associated Press is reporting the Russian president has ordered a halt to the military action.

WOUB News talked with McBrayer yesterday as he was on his way from Georgia to Armenia.

McBrayer left Georgia in a convoy of busses arranged by the U.S. embassy.

McBrayer is 33-years-old and was studying in Tblisi but left when the fighting intensified.

He says people were wondering why the U.S. is not doing more to help.

McBrayer was planning to stay with friends in the capitol of Armenia and eventually fly back to the United States.

However, he expected that would take several days.
