Growing number of men with eating disorders
(2008-08-11)
(WOUB) - Anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating.

These are all eating disorders and they're of great concern to Francie Astrom.

Astrom is a nutrition counselor at Ohio University and she's concerned because eating disorders often first surface during the college years.

And despite what you may think, it's not just a female problem.

The National Eating Disorders Association reports 10 million females struggle with food issues.

The number for men is one million.

Eating disorders can be prevented.

This usually involves addressing physical, emotional, social and family issues which can cause them.
