McArthur Village Council President asked to resign
(WOUB) - The mayor of McArthur is asking the Village Council President to resign.

Mayor Jim Woodell wrote Juanita McNickle a letter last month requesting that she leave her position immediately.

He says she has been involved in numerous decisions that resulted in a waste of more than 100 thousand dollars of taxpayer money.

Specifically, he says McNickle's actions have caused the village to lose several lawsuits.

McNickle has been on McArthur village council for the past ten years.

Woodell says she has made other bad decisions during that time including standing by former McArthur Police Chief Joe Drew when he was facing dereliction of duty charges several years ago.

McNickle says that she has received the letter and will not resign.

She refused to comment further on the subject.

Wooddell says if McNickle doesn't step down, he will consider to pursue civil legal action to remove her from office.
