Bomb Threat Update
(2008-08-01)
(WOUB) - Authorities are following up on a number of significant leads in the investigation of the bomb threats at two Athens County post offices and the bank robbery in Coolville this week.

But, F.B.I. spokesman Mike Brooks says no arrests have been made.

He will not comment on whether there are any suspects.

The bombs, which turned out to be fake, were located at the Guysville and Stewart post offices.

An unknown liquid was later discovered within at least one device.

Brooks says authorities are still waiting for laboratory analysis of both devices.

He says there still is no evidence which proves the bank robbery and the two devices were or were not connected.

The devices were found just after six in the morning Tuesday and nearly four hours later the nearby bank was robbed.
