Scrap Tire Removal
(WOUB) - A Scioto County landowner has been ordered by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency to remove approximately 2,500 scrap tires from his property.

According to an OEPA news release - The tires on Simpson Road in McDermott are a danger to public health and the environment.

Scrap tire piles may harbor rats and are prime breeding ground for disease-carrying mosquitoes.

Tire dumps may also start fires that produce toxic smoke and oils.

The OEPA has given the landowner 120 days to remove all tires from the site.
