Vinton Co. inmates attempt to sneak drugs into courthouse
(WOUB) - Two Vinton County inmates at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail and the wife of an inmate are facing charges of Conveyance of Drugs on the Grounds of a Detention Facility.

Sheriff Dave Hickey says the charges relate to an incident on July 25th in the Vinton County Courthouse.

32-year-old Shawn Steinbrook of South Bloomingsville allegedly contacted his wife, 29-year-old Audra Steinhrook, and arranged for the couple's 10-year-old son to hide drugs in the mens restroom on the second floor.

Steinbrook's jail-mate, 29-year-old Brian Barney, was to enter the restroom while pretending to be ill and retrieve the drugs.

Chief Deputy Shawn Justice busted the plot, recovering one small baggie of suspected marijuana and unknown pills.
