Storms cause state of emergency in Perry County
(WOUB) - That nasty storm yesterday was bad enough that the county commissioners have declared a state of emergency in Perry County.

High winds knocked down trees and power lines.

The National Weather Service says straight-line winds of more than 100 mph tore through Junction City in Perry County, while winds as high as 80 mph hit nearby New Lexington.

Perry County Emergency Management executive director Rita Spicer says no one was injured.

Volunteers and fire crews cleaned up roads
and other damage yesterday.

American Electric Power says about 9,700 customers in central and southern Ohio were still without power as of about 9 p.m. last night.
