No tornado touchdown in Perry Co.
(WOUB) - A tornado DID NOT touch down in Perry County early this morning.

National Weather Service Meteorologist John Victory says his office deteremined straight line winds, estimated to be around 110 miles per hour caused damage in the county.

According to a news release from the Perry County Sheriff's Department - Several villages and townships in the county suffered heavy damage during the storm.

Perry County Commissioners have declared a state of emergency and a level 2 road emergency - asking drivers to use extreme caution - has also been issued.

Sheriff William Barker says there are numerous power and phone line outages throughout the county - as a result of the high winds.

He says the most damage occurred in the Jackson Township area.
