(2008-07-17)
Dustin Ford, New Ohio Assistant Coach
(WOUB) - A former Ohio University basketball standout is returning the Bobcat sidelines.

Head Men's Basketball coach John Groce announced today that Dustin Ford will be an assistant coach for the Bobcats next years.

Ford is a Cambridge, Ohio, native and was a four-year starter for the Bobcats from 1997-01.

His 166 career three-point field goals currently rank fifth in school history, while his 310 assists tie for seventh on the Ohio charts, one spot ahead of brother and newly-hired Kent State head coach Geno Ford.

Dustin Ford comes to Ohio after a three year stint as an assistant at Western Carolina under former Bobcat head coach Larry Hunter.

He will be joined by Chris Holtmann and Jamall Walker on Groce's staff.

Holtmann comes to Ohio after a five-year stint at Gardner-Webb University.

Walker heads to Athens after spending the 2007-08 campaign as an assistant at Murray State University.
