McCain to Stop in West Virginia too
(2008-07-08)
(WOUB) - The presumptive Republican nominee for
president will make a stop in West Virginia before a planned rally in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Sen. John McCain will be at Tri-State Airport outside of Huntington Wednesday afternoon.

The Arizona senator last visited the Mountain State in May, three days after the Democratic primary, when he visited a St. Albans gun shop.

Political observers say McCain has a good chance of winning West Virginia's electoral votes in November, even though Republican delegates preferred former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at the state
party convention in February.

McCain's likely Democratic opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, was trounced by rival Sen. Hillary Clinton in their party's West Virginia primary.
