Bob Evans Post Office
(WOUB) - On the one year anniversary of his death, an effort is underway to rename the U.S. Post Office in Gallipolis after restaurant pioneer Bob Evans.

Sixth District Congressman Charlie Wilson introduced legislation to do so today.

Evans grew up in Gallia County and started his own sausage business out of his family farm in 1948.

In 1964, he expanded operations to the restaurant business.

More than 40 years later, there are now more 600 Bob Evans restaurant locations around the country.

Evans passed away on June 21st of last year.

Wilson says he's proud to honor him by introducing this legislation one year after Evans' death.

He calls him an entrepreneurial hero who embodied the American dream

The bipartisan legislation is co-sponsored by 13 members of Congress from Ohio including 18th District representative Zack Space.
