OU environmental project gets funding for two more years
(2008-05-22)
(WOUB) - A "green teaching" program at Ohio University has gotten an "A" from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, which is rewarding the university with a $50,000 grant.

The money will be used to expand a pilot project that integrated environmental sustainability into the curriculum.

Michele Morrone of OU's Environmental Studies program says the project currently involves 20 faculty members in various disciplines, and 20 more will be added.

The grant guarantees the so-called Kanawha Education Project will be around for the next two years.

Morrone says she wants to expand the project statewide to create a sustainability educator's network in higher education.
