Senate passes farm bill; President threatens veto
(WOUB) - The Senate passed a $29 billion farm bill Thursday, and now it's headed to President Bush, who has threatened a veto.

But Ohio Democrat Sherrod Brown says Congress has the votes to make it happen anyway.

President Bush claims the Farm Bill is fiscally irresponsible and pays too much to wealthy farmers.

The measure would increase farm subsidies but also provide funding for food stamp and nutrition programs.
