Jackson gets money for rail improvements
(2008-05-14)
(WOUB) - The rail line owned by the City of Jackson is going to be fixed-up to handle heavier freight loads.

The project is getting a big helping hand from the Ohio Rail Development Commission...which just announced a $350,000 grant and a $350,000 loan to the city.

Officials are hoping the improvements will make Jackson more attractive to new businesses who want rail service.

An Ohio Rail Development Commission press release says the company Ohio Basic Mineral is already planning a location near the rail line and could potentially create 45 jobs.
