Hendrickson Trial Day 3
(WOUB) - Three days into his murder trial, Ronald Hendrickson The second, finally had a chance to give his account of what happened on the night of his ex-girlfriend, Jodi Blankenship's death in April 2007.

He told the jury that the last thing he recalled was getting stabbed by Blankenship.

The defendant also testified that the alleged murder weapon was a gift that he had given Blankenship during their relationship.

Athens County Prosecutor Dave Warren challenged Hendrickson's portrayal of the night's events.

Warren says the defendant had a deliberate plan to kill Blankenship on the night of her murder and simply followed through.

The prosecution rested its case earlier in the day but not before unveiling detailed testimoy of the wounds Blankenship sustained.

And as s Montgomery County Forensic Pathologist told the jury in detail about those wounds, Hendrickson, the second broke down crying causing a nearly 25 minute recess in his trial on aggravated murder charges.

Doctor Maneesha Pandey told the jury that six of the fourteen wounds Blankenship sustained ultimately could have killed her.

The Jury is expected to take the case early next week.
