ACJFS to cut $885,000 in services
(WOUB) - Athens County Job and Family Services Director Jack Frech says it's a crisis situation.

Frech says Columbus and Washington need to wake up and recognize that real people are hurting.

His statements come with the announcement that his agency will cut $850,000 in services to low-income people.

The cuts affect eight Athens County agencies.

The Kids on Campus program will lose the most -- $335,000.

Some of the others that will be cut -- Athens County Childrens Services, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and United Seniors of Athens.

Frech blames reduced funding from the state, saying it's a sad day.

And he says the state is funding other priorities while local families are struggling.
