Tax credits used to try to land steel plant in Lawrence County
(2008-04-30)
(WOUB) - Tax credits worth about $300,000 are being used to try to get a steel company to locate in Lawrence County.

If Chatham Steel Corporation sets up shop in Hanging Rock, 50 people would be hired to work there.

The Ohio Department of Development says it's a $6 million-project and is competing with West Virginia and Kentucky to get the plant.

Chatham is a scrap iron and metal business.

It's considering the Hanging Rock site for a distribution facility.
