Lawrence County cracks down on big weekend
(WOUB) - State authorities announced Tuesday they arrested seven people for drunk driving in Lawrence County over the weekend.

They also issued more than 100 citations and filed charges against two people for possession of drug paraphernalia and carrying a concealed weapon.

The State Highway Patrol and Ohio Investigative Unit teamed up to combat drunk driving by focusing on local highways and businesses with liquor permits.

They acted on a weekend with several events, including high school proms and the "Rock-n-Roll Rally," which was held at Hanging Rock All-Terrain Vehicle Club.

Highway Patrol Lieutenant Michael Gore says as a result of the high visibility and strict enforcement, there were no crashes related to the events.
