Peden Turf Checked
(2008-04-23)
(WOUB) - There should be no worries about the artificial turf on Ohio University athletic fields.

Preliminary testing was conducted on Peden Stadium and the field hockey turfs in response to concerns over high lead levels.

The tests showed no elevated levels of lead in the turf, which means the fields shouldn't be dangerous to players.

The test at Football fields across Ohio began after New Jersey health officials said they found high lead levels in artificial turf at two fields.

Additional detailed tests at Ohio University are planned for Thursday.
