Fairfield County authorities say crime ring uncovered
(2008-04-23)
(WOUB) - Fairfield County authorities say they've busted a crime ring responsible for stealing millions of dollars of property in the region.

Nine indictments have come down in the case and $3 million worth of stolen goods have been recovered.

The crime ring is accused of stealing things like expensive cars, snowmobiles and even a chainsaw.

The group is also accused of presenting fraudulent documents to buy cars and homes.

Seven people are already behind bars, but the sheriff's department is still looking for two others; Eugene Willis and Randall Workman.

Because of the high number of fraudulent insurance claims, Ohio Department of Insurance Director Mary Jo Hudson says you are footing the bill.

The sheriff's department is continuing the investigation with the Department of Insurance.

Investigators say there still could be millions of dollars in property not yet found.
