(WOUB) - The U-S Department of Agriculture is more than corn, wheat and soybeans.

The agency also promotes NON-traditional farming through its Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education program.

Just ask Chris Chmiel.

Chmiel lives near Albany and has been selling fresh pawpaws and pawpaw productions at his Integration Acres farm since 1996.

Chmiel recently was in Kansas City, Missouri to share what he knows about pawpaws at the 20th Anniversary New American Farm Conference.

The focus was on sustainable agriculture...and featured ideas and innovations by the nation's top pioneers in the field.

Chmiel was one of only two people from Ohio selected to participate in the conference.
