Attorney General considers whether to prosecute Skybus
(2008-04-09)
(WOUB) - Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann says he's
looking at whether Skybus Airlines should be taken to court over last weekend's sudden shutdown.

Passengers were left stranded when the Columbus-based discount airline grounded all of its flights and then filed for bankruptcy.

Dann says he's exploring whether any civil or criminal action
should be pursued.

In the meantime, he says people who've paid for Skybus flights that won't be taking off should dispute the charges with their credit card companies.

Dann says federal law protects air travelers in these situations, allowing them to refuse to pay the charge when
an airline doesn't make good on a ticket.

Skybus failed after struggling with rising fuel prices and a
slowing economy.
