Forum on Higher Education
(WOUB) - A forum on higher education in Washington D-C yesterday (Thursday) is said to be the largest meeting of Ohio college presidents ever.

U-S Senator Sherrod Brown hosted the meeting.

Ohio University President Roderick McDavis says the meeting was very successful.

He says they talked about how to keep the quality of higher education in Ohio high......while keeping the price low.

Another topic discussed was the problem of "brain drain" in the state....meaning that many get educated in Ohio - but then leave the state to take a job.

McDavis says those at the forum think that higher education needs to get more involved in Ohio's economic development...something he says Ohio University is already doing and can build on.

McDavis says a report on the meeting will be distributed to all those in attendance and follow-up meetings will be planned.

Several other presidents from our region also attended the forum.
