I-70 Death
(WOUB) - The State Highway Patrol wants to know
why a motorist from the Dayton area took a fatal walk into traffic on Interstate 70 in eastern Ohio.

The patrol says the westbound lanes were shut down in the Buckeye Lake area for about 2 hours Wednesday morning after Michael Kreutzer was struck by a semi.

The 33-year-old from Kettering was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville, where he was pronounced dead.

Trooper Jon Thomas at the patrol's Granville post says Kreutzer had been traveling west and left his 2003 Ford Escape along the right shoulder with the motor running and tried crossing the road.

The patrol has determined the SUV was not malfunctioning.

Thomas says the semi driver won't be charged.
