Flooding hits Ohio

(WOUB) - A Flood Warning is under effect for urban areas and small streams in Athens, Jackson, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton and Washington Counties until 7:15 PM tonight.

A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.

Stream rises are expected to be slow and flash flooding is not expected.

In McConnelsville, the National Weather Service says the Muskingum River will reach flood stage by early tomorrow morning.

It's expected to peak at around 11.5 feet.

The official flood stage in McConnelsville is 11 feet.

The rain is also causing problems on road ways.

Around the region, there are also reports of high water on many County and State Highways.
