Unresolved issues between Rio Grande schools
(2008-03-18)
(WOUB) - An agreement has been signed but there's still disagreement between the Rio Grande Community College and the University of Rio Grande.

The agreement spells out the working relationship between the two Gallia County schools and Community College President Herman Koby says the two boards signed it Friday.

However, it does not resolve a proposal by the University to reclassify certain students, a move that would increase their tuition.

Koby says Board of Regents Chancellor Eric Fingerhut will appoint an official to deal with unresolved issues.

Prior to the agreement, the boards of trustees had gone through "months of intensive negotiations."

A news release said the Community College and the University had been "deadlocked over a number of provisions that focus primarily on issues of funding, access and affordability."
