(WOUB) - The nephew of a southern Ohio man who was
dragged more than a half mile under a police cruiser says his uncle
might have had a seizure.

Juan Thomas Junior says he wants to know what happened to his
uncle Saturday night in Ironton. Footprints that night show
46-year-old Guy Thomas left an American Legion Hall and walked
across the street before he was run over.

Police aren't sure if Thomas was killed by the police cruiser or
if he was already dead and lying in the snowy downtown street
before the vehicle approached.

An autopsy is scheduled.

Ironton Police Chief Jim Carey says officer Richard Fouts didn't
notice the man's body under the cruiser until he arrived at the
police department about 10 Saturday night. Twenty-seven-year-old
Fouts remains on administrative leave while state officials
investigate.
