Athens County Grand Jury finds no probable cause in videotaped sex case
(WOUB) - An Athens County Grand Jury has decided not to file charges against Ohio University students allegedly involved in making a sex videotape.

According to a news release from Athens Law Director Pat Lang, the grand jury reviewed the evidence in the case and found there was not probable cause to bring charges.

The O-U Police Department investigated the case where two adults were videotaped having sex.

Investigating Officers concluded that it appeared the sex was consensual.

Even though the grand jury doesn't normally review cases at the misdemeanor level, Lang says since this case was highly sensational in nature, it was appropriate for the grand jury to examine the case.

He says his office will only use the grand jury in cases where there are special circumstances.

Lang says since the grand jury determined no charges should be filed in this case - he will honor that decision.
