Wildlife officials again find no chronic wasting disease in state deer
(2008-02-15)
(WOUB) - Each year, Ohio's deer herd is tested for a brain disease called chronic wasting disease.

This year, the Ohio Division of Wildlife says it has found no evidence of the disease.

It's the sixth straight disease-free year.

The Ohio deer samples taken late last year were also tested for bovine tuberculosis and so far there has been no trace of this disease found.

The Division of Wildlife monitors the health of the deer herd throughout the year.
