Apparently Morgan will keep its prosecutor
(WOUB) - Last week, the Morgan County Board of Elections determined that County Prosecutor Richard Welch was not a resident of Morgan County.

Although the residency issue did ruin any plans of re-election, Welch will most likely be able to complete his term that ends this year.

According to the Ohio Attorney General's office, Welch probably will face no penalty so long as no other County Prosecutor or a member of Ohio state government tries to get him removed by filing a complaint.

So far, that's not happened.

Welch is currently stationed in Iraq as an Army Reserve colonel.

The residency question was raised by someone who said Welch had actually been living in neighboring Washington County.
