Wayne, state agencies sign "Memorandum of Understanding"
(2008-01-28)
(WOUB) - The Wayne National Forest, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Ohio Division of Forestry are joining forces to better help woodland owners in our area.

The agencies have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding that is said to be "the first of its kind in the country."

It calls for them to "explore ways to provide additional financial and technical assistance...for management of forest resources..."

Mary Reddan is Supervisor of the Wayne National Forest and she says the help will be made available to landowners who border the Wayne.

The national forest, the Conservation Service and the Forestry Division will develop an annual work plan to improve forest lands.
