Brunner Battles
(WOUB) - After one year on the top as Ohio's top
elections official, Jennifer Brunner has drawn a new portrait of Ohio's electoral landscape and drawn the criticism that goes with it.

As the new secretary of state, Brunner wants to change the voting systems in 57 of Ohio's 88 counties for the second time in three years.

She's also been trying to fix the seemingly never-ending problems with at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

All this activity has brought out detractors.

State Representative Kevin DeWine has been Brunner's chief critic.

DeWine is deputy chairman of the Ohio Republican Party.

The two have grappled over issues ranging from the release of precinct voting information in previous elections to Brunner's desire to have lawyers hold the Democratic positions on county
boards of elections.
