OU tests emergency sound system
(2008-01-11)
(WOUB) - Ohio University tested a sound system for broadcasting emergency messages yesterday.

The plan is to install permanent speakers in six or seven locations so everyone can be alerted to an emergency should one occur.

The project is budgeted at $250,000 Project Manager David Brown says they had some problems at the Ridges.

The company Federal Signal conducted the tests.

Federal Signal Manager Jamie Musulin says the next step is to make adjustments to speaker placement.

The system is supposed to be operational by April.
