Zanesville mayor wears LSU clothes after title game
Zanesville Mayor Howard "Butch" Zwelling
(WOUB) - The mayor of Zanesville has a few new articles of clothing to wear to work this week.

Although, he probably wishes he didn't.

Thanks to a bet lost on last night's college football national championship game, Mayor Howard "Butch" Zwelling has to wear an L-S-U tee shirt and hat to work for the rest of the week.

He will also have to don the Tiger's clothing at the next council meeting he presides over.
Zwelling challenged mayor Ben Morris of Slidell, Louisiana to the bet over the title game.

If O-S-U had won, Morris would have had to wear Buckeye gear.

The two mayors have become friends after Zanesville adopted Slidell in the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

After the storm, Zwelling helped lead one of several trips from Ohio to the rebuild the city.

Here more on the title game bet in this report from WOUB's Jason Koma compiled before the championship game.
