Two southeast Ohio groups get money for AIDS patients
(WOUB) - Two southeast Ohio agencies are among six organizations in the state sharing more than $1 million in grants for AIDS patients.

The money is from the the Ohio Department of Development and will provide housing assistance for households where a family member has been diagnosed HIV positive.

Area Agency on Aging District 7 Incorporated - which is based in Gallia County - will get $40,000.

Vicki Abdella is the director of community service at District 7, which serves seven counties in the region.

The grant will help 35 households with rent, mortgage and utility costs.

The other grant goes to the Athens AIDS Task Force, which serves 13 counties.

The $58,000 is expected to help 50 households.
