Scioto County shooting suspect turns himself in after two days in the woods
(WOUB) - A West Portsmouth man suspected in a murder turned himself in to the sheriff's office over the weekend.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini says Ray Heid now is being held on a probation violation charge.

No charge yet for the murder while an investigation continues.

Authorities had been looking for Heid for two days following the shooting Thursday of Kevin Swords of West Portsmouth.

Heid told officers that he had been staying in the woods.
