Ironton gets $400K for downtown revitalization

(WOUB) - Ironton is getting a $400,000 grant from the Ohio Department of Development to improve its downtown area.

The department announced Thursday that the money will be used to bring 13 businesses up to building code.

The city also plans to construct a performance stage, bury utility lines and repair sidewalks.

According to a release from the Department of Development, more than $4 million will be spent on the project, with contributions also from other public and private funds.
