Winter storm hits Ohio
(2007-12-05)
(WOUB) - It's a wintry Wednesday in Ohio, with snow falling throughout the state, making a mess of roads and closing schools.
The National Weather Service has snow advisories in effect over much of Ohio. Most parts are expected to receive between 1 and 4 inches of snow, though the forecasters say Allen and Van Wert counties in western Ohio could see as much as 7 inches.
There have been numerous spinouts and fender-benders on Ohio interstates. Sgt. Carlos Smith with the State Highway Patrol says the first significant winter storm always keeps troopers busy, because during the summer and fall people tend to forget how to drive in snow.
School districts around the state have canceled or delayed their Wednesday classes.
