Little Hocking water still shows C8 levels, water association says
(2007-11-30)
(WOUB) - The Little Hocking Water Association says C-8 remains in its water and DuPont should not stop providing bottled water to customers in the district.
Earlier this week, DuPont announced it would no longer pay for bottled water as of today because a new filtration system is removing the suspected cancer causing chemical.
But the water district has just issued a statement saying more tests are needed.
It says test results received Wednesday show one water tank has C-8 levels "that were three times greater than the U-S E-P-A's 'action' level of point-five parts per billion."
And Little Hocking says those results also show water in other areas of the system have troublesome C-8 levels.
The C-8 came from a DuPont plant just across the Ohio River in West Virginia.
