OU students talk religion.
(WOUB) - It's called the Difficult Dialogues Project.

Difficult because the issue is religion...and for many people, that's a touchy subject.

Dialogues because the idea with the project is to get people talking with each other.

Difficult Dialogues is lead by Ohio University world religions professor Steve Hayes...who hopes the new initiative will lead to increased understanding of faiths among students .

The Ford Foundation is underwriting the project with a 100-thousand dollar grant.

It involves a select group of 200 O-U freshmen.

Hays says the program will reach
beyond the classroom, too.

In January, O-U will offer programs to teach the Athens community about other religions.
