Hocking College Energy Institute
(WOUB) - It was cold, rainy, and windy yesterday but Hocking College Board of Trustees bember Dick Brandt called it a "BEAUTIFUL" day.

The reason -- he and other Hocking College officials broke ground for the Hocking College Energy Institute.

The institute will concentrate on alternative energy and train technicians in building fuel and bio fuel cells, wind and solar power systems, and hybrid vehicles.

The facility will be built next to the Logan-Hocking Industrial Park.

The project cost $3.2 million.

Energy Institute Dean Jerry Hutton says the building is the first of its kind in Ohio.

When the institute opens in 2009, it will create about 90 new jobs.
