Athens peacemaker in Iraq
(WOUB) - Peggy Gish is in Iraq again.

The Athens County woman plans to spend four months working in the northern part of the country.

Having just arrived, the exact nature of that work is still uncertain.

Relieving tensions between internally displaced persons and the communities they go to, is one of the possibilities.

Gish is with a Christian peace group and has been to Iraq several times to promote the prevention and reduction of violence.

During her last trip earlier this year she was kidnapped and held for two days before being released.

She returned knowing that could happen again.

Peggy's husband - Art - is headed to the Middle East, too -- the Palestinian West Bank.

He's also volunteering with the Christian Peacemaker Teams.
