Average Crop Revenue Program
(2007-10-26)
(WOUB) - Ohio U-S Senator Sherrod Brown is singing the praises of the 2007 Farm Bill, which was voted out of committee yesterday.

The bill includes an amendment engineered by Brown and another senator that introduces the AVERAGE CROP REVENUE program -- a policy that aims to help farmers during times of poor crop yields.

Brown - a Democrat - says the bill will also cut back on tax dollars that go to city farmers in New York and big corporate farms that don't need government help.

Brown says the bill still needs some work but feels overall it will improve conditions for small farmers across the country.
