Mercury thermometer recycling in Belmont County
(2007-10-24)
(WOUB) - A Belmont county hospital is getting some money from the state to recycle its mercury thermometers.

The Barnesville Hospital Association received a nearly $4,400 grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.

The money is from the Community Mercury Thermometer Exchange Program and will help residents in Belmont and Monroe Counties exchange their mercury thermometers for digital ones.

The grant will support advertising about the dangers of mercury and will also pay for proper recycling and disposal of mercury thermometers.
