Prosecutor reacts to case
(WOUB) - The Hocking County Prosecutor says the death of a Logan High School freshman due to a drug overdose caused him to have an important conversation with his own child.

A 14 year old girl was charged Monday with providing a fatal dose of pain pills to Caitlin Holdren.

An investigation determined that the girl charged stole the methodone prescribed for her grandfather and gave it to Holdren at a football game.

Prosecutor Larry Beal says cases like this should make parents realize the importance of talking to their kids about drugs... Which he did himself.

Beal says punishment for the girl could range anywhere from probation to time in a juvenile detention center.
