14-year-old overdoses on methadone
(WOUB) - A 14-year-old girl was charged yesterday with providing a fatal dose of pain pills to a fellow Logan High School freshman.

The Columbus Dispatch reports the girl was charged with a delinquency count of corrupting another with drugs in the September 22nd death of 14-year-old Caitlin Holdren of Logan.

Holdren was found dead at a girlfriend's home where she spent the night after attending a Logan High School football game the night before.

The girl accused of providing the pills lives elsewhere.

The Hocking County coroner told the newspaper that an autopsy concluded the girl died from an overdose after taking 8 1/2 doses of methadone.

An investigation determined that the girl charged yesterday stole the pills prescribed for her grandfather and distributed them to friends at the football game.
