A possible "Medical Amnesty" for OU
(2007-10-19)
(WOUB) - Ohio University's Student Student has passed a resolution asking O-U to explore the possibility of instituting a "medical amnesty" program.

It calls on President McDavis to form an ad hoc committee to consider allowing students to seek medical attention for themselves and friends without facing legal repurcussions for underage drinking or other illegal activity.

The resolution's sponsor says "those who need medical care may be reluctant to seek help" because of potential disciplinary action.

Similar programs are already in place at both Cornell and Bowling Green State University.
